On Friday 11 March 2016, a group of students from Auckland Institute of Studies and I went to the Blues vs Hurricanes rugby game at Eden Park. The Blues are the local team (Auckland and north of Auckland region), while the Hurricanes are from the Wellington and southern North Island region.
Rugby – price varies.

Eden Park Rugby: Blues vs Hurricanes
I have 10 VIP Blues supporter tickets and I bought the remainder a couple of days previously. These tickets are all $25 each (student concession) and are excellent seats – close to the action. Tickets also include train or bus fare to and from Eden Park.
When we arrived, there were some non-playing Blues players giving out Blues flags to supporters. We collected our flags and then had our faces painted in Blues colours.
The game, which started at 7.35pm, was exciting, with the Hurricanes running out winners 23 – 19 but the Blues were hot on attack at the end of the game and were perhaps a little unlucky not to win.
After the game, some players from each team came to the side of the stands to allow fans to get selfies with them. Some of the players are All Blacks players as well as playing for either the Blues or the Hurricanes.
We caught the train back to AIS, returning at about 10pm.
