On Saturday 23 April 2016, I collected 2 people from their residence in the city and then picked up the remainder of our group at Auckland Institute of Studies, making a group of 7 (5 from South Korea, 1 from Saudi Arabia and myself). We join Muriwai Surf School for their regular daily surfing classes. We get into our wetsuits, which are supplied by the surf school, and have some lessons on land before picking up our surfboards and walking a short distance to the beach. The instructors then give some advice about observing beach conditions as well as safety advice. Then we have just over an hour to practice in the surf. The instructors are in the surf with us, offering plenty of helpful advice. Most people are able to stand on their surfboard for at least a short ride during their lesson.

> Depart 9.30am or 2pm
> Return 1.30pm or 6pm
> 45 minutes drive to Muriwai Surf School

On Saturday 12 December 2015, a group of 6 (2 from Korea, 2 from China and 2 from Thailand) left Auckland Institute of Studies at 9.30am and went to Muriwai Beach where we had surfing lessons from Muriwai Surf School.
