Ambury Farm is a working farm in the city. We are allowed to open gates and walk into most fields which gives us wonderful opportunities to interact with the animals. There is a full range of New Zealand farm animals: cows, sheep, goats, pigs, horses and poultry.
While it is great to visit all year round, the best time is from early July to early October when there are hundreds of lambs and a few calves. At this time of the year, visits are timed to give us opportunities to bottle feed orphaned lambs. In summer I can arrange a BBQ there (BYO food or we can stop at a supermarket).
- $45 two – three hour visit (minimum 2 passengers – maximum 11 passengers)
- Depart 2.30 pm
- Return 6 pm (approx.)
- 20 minute travel time each way (approx.)
- Pick up at your hotel / home (Auckland central area*)
- Bookings advised
*If outside this area, contact me to see if a pick up is possible.

At first, it was quite cloudy, and it threatened to rain but we only got a very brief 2 or 3 minute shower and finally the sky cleared and we had a nice blue sky. It was probably 20 degrees but seemed a bit cooler because of the wind which was blowing off the Manukau Harbour. Continue reading Ambury Farm
