Auckland is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the world, so a visit here is not complete until you have visited Auckland Night Markets. The Night Markets have a wide range of stalls cooking street food from all around the world, so you can have a large, cheap meal from 1 country or sample small portions from many countries.
Auckland Night Markets open every night of the week in 7 different locations:
- Monday: Onehunga
- Tuesday: Mt Wellington
- Wednesday: Botany
- Thursday: Henderson
- Friday: Papatoetoe
- Saturday: Pakuranga
- Sunday: Glenfield
I find that they are smaller and quieter early in the week, so I suggest going late in the week and on weekends. Most have convenient public transport.
> Free to visit but escorted trips can be arranged: $45 per person minimum 2 passengers
> Start 5.30pm
> Finish 10.30pm
